Jagriti Singh, Advocate Supreme Court: Our activities

With heartfelt gratitude for the continuous support, love, blessings, and care, we now feel a strong sense of duty toward our society, the Court, and the Bar Association. Over the years, we have been involved in various activities aimed at improving the legal system and supporting the community. In 2005, I joined the Hon'ble High Court in Allahabad, and shortly after, in 2006,

I began working on the implementation of Chapter XXIV of the Allahabad High Court Rules concerning the Advocate Roll and Law Firms Roll. This task was partially completed.

A significant milestone was reached in 2007, when I organized the "Conclave on Information Technology and Advocates," which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Yatindra Singh. Additionally, I launched a public interest website, MissingFound.org, aimed at helping locate missing persons, with its inauguration being presided over by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ganga Prasad Srivastava.

In the same year, I filed an intervenor application before the High Court concerning missing persons, which was successfully completed. In 2008, I made a request to the Bar Association for support in helping flood victims in Bihar, urging all advocates to donate usable items, though this request was not fulfilled. In 2011, I filed an application with the High Court Bar Association requesting the implementation of minimum wages as per the Minimum Wages Act for standard living conditions, though this was not considered.

In 2012, I submitted multiple requests, including asking the Registrar General of the NIC at the High Court to upgrade the server, which was completed, and for immediate access to computerized orders, which was partially achieved. That same year, I raised concerns with the Registrar General regarding the maintenance of water purifiers, which was also only partially addressed.

In 2013, I conducted a survey in the High Court for the benefit of advocates and submitted the findings to the High Court Bar Association, but no further action was taken. Later that year, I proposed organizing a National Conference for Judicial Reforms, but this remains pending. I also submitted a letter to the Registrar General regarding the transparency of seat allotment, which was completed, and raised concerns about judicial reforms within the Bar Association, but these remain pending.

In 2015, I suggested several improvements to the Registrar General, such as ensuring every case has a fixed hearing date, uploading the list of all applications on the official website, providing the status of cases on Court 55 counters, and stamping the date of order uploads, though some of these suggestions are still pending. Finally,

in 2018, I submitted a letter to the Chief Justice of India requesting reconsideration of directions issued on March 28, 2018, concerning the automatic vacation of stays after six months without hearing, a move I believe could be unjust for those affected. This matter remains pending.

These activities represent only a portion of my ongoing efforts to improve the functioning of the judicial system, advocate for the rights of individuals, and support the broader community.
